About Flaming Filmreel

Flaming Filmreel features a new short film (complete with film maker commentary and a short review by author E.S. Wynn) every Sunday, providing a platform that allows both new and established independent filmmakers to reach a wider audience based solely on the merit of each individual film and not on deadlines, reputation, age or any other factor. Flaming Filmreel endeavors to give unheard filmmakers the voices they deserve.

Currently, Flaming Filmreel is edited by science fiction author E.S. Wynn

If you like the site and want to see more, consider buying one of our books (or a CD) from the store at Thunderune Publishing. Profits from all sales go toward funding Flaming Filmreel and other independently run sites. We couldn't do this without your support. :)

Flaming Filmreel Needs Your Vids!

Independent film makers of the world! This is your chance to gain some free publicity!

To me, and those of us here at Flaming Filmreel, the independent film maker is a hero, someone to be applauded and treasured. Independent film, especially short film, is as much an art form as painting, poetry, music or anything else that might be taken seriously. No matter what flavor your film is, be it Sci-fi, Action, Documentary, Drama, Romance, you name it-- it's welcome here.

Sorry, anything rated R or better (you know how it is, lots of cussing and shooting is usually okay, but if the site tries to feature anything with breasts or sex, people will be offended and I won't be able to provide any more free publicity.)

What I like: Films that move in visionary new directions. I prefer shorter films (less than 10 minutes) over longer films. Adaptations of stories are good too!

How it works: Fill out the form below completely (the better it is, the more likely you are to get featured!)

Use the form below:

Here’s the legal stuff: When your video gets accepted, you are giving Flaming Filmreel the right to feature (embed) your video on its own little page of the magazine along with your Filmmaker's Commentary and Wynn's Review (I provide this) of your film for as long as the magazine exists. You still retain all your copyrights, but the site gets to continue to feature you, giving you free publicity no matter what! Don't worry, Flaming Filmreel doesn’t own your film! After it appears on the front page of Flaming Filmreel, you are free to sell it for millions of dollars, cut a deal with a movie producer, expand it or anything else all without needing our approval–just make sure to let others know where your work is featured! (here!)

I will let you know whether your film is accepted within 3-6 months of submission, (more like 2-3 days) depending on workload. If you haven't heard from Flaming Filmreel in that time, feel free to send me an email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Sometimes things get caught in our spam filters. It really is nothing personal. :)

In the meantime, spread the word!

Compensation:
Being featured! Whether this is your jumping off point as a filmmaker or a way to get another piece on your resume, Flaming Filmreel offers you a voice, a chance to get your work out there in the hands of viewers and to be seen!
